Boat, kayak, canoe, paddle board or hang out on the beach at Pineview Reservoir. Kayak, paddle board, or town cruiser bike rentals are available here at Detours . Motorboat and PWC rentals are available from Club Rec on the shores of Pineview, just several blocks from Compass Rose Lodge.

Snowbasin

Minutes drive from Compass Rose Lodge, Snowbasin is a world-class winter and summer mountain resort. With unbeatable skiing and riding in the Winter and Mountain biking, hiking, mini golfing and concerts in the summer, Snowbasin should be a must see on your Ogden Valley to-do list.

HALO Observatory

Compass Rose Lodge’s onsite celestial observatory is perfect for all who are interested in the heaven’s. View planets, stars and deep sky objects from our window to the universe. See the HALO page for more details. HALO tours are typically offered Wed-Fri and most Saturdays. Please call ahead to make reservations or questions. 385-279-4460

New World Distillery

New World Distillery is Ogden Valley’s very own independent distillery. Specializing in agave spirits, gin, sweet liqueurs, and bourbon whiskey; New World cannot be missed if you enjoy distilled spirits. If you have time to spare, book a private tour of the facility to see the processes by which these spirits are produced.

These convenient options are within walking distance from the hotel, or at the local ski resort for those of you skiers and boarders staying with us. Shooting Star Saloon

Burgers, Beer | Just a short walk down the road from the hotel is what’s said to be the oldest operating bar this side of the Mississippi. Known for their great burgers and unique atmosphere, this saloon is a great option for the 21 and older crowds. Ask about takeout options for those with children.

Snowbasin

Not only is the skiing and snowboarding world-class at this amazing resort but so is the dining. Click the link to see what amazing dining options are available on the mountain during your stay at the lodge.


EDEN DINING

Just a 10-minute drive from our lodge, Eden is another amazing Ogden Valley town with a bit more variety and a few more dining options. These are just a few of the great places Eden has to offer, so ask hotel staff for other suggestions in the Eden area.

Carlos and Harley’s

Tex-Mex, Cantina | Yummy Mexican food, a unique and entertaining atmosphere, and fun staff are what make this place a local favorite.

Mad Moose Café

Sandwiches, Burgers, Soups, Salads | With its unique, fresh menu, and affordable selection, Mad Moose Café quickly became a favorite for the locals. Summertime outdoor dining make this a great place to stop on your way to or from the lake.

Ogden Valley Pizza

Pizza | Consider this great option if you’re interested in delicious pizza delivered to your room, or you’d like to dine outside on their wooden patio dining area. Check ahead to enjoy live music that’s often played at the Eden Center where this local pizza place is located.

Pats Food Shack

Sandwiches, Burgers, Breakfast Burritos | Need a quick lunch or breakfast? Stop by Eden’s burrito, burger, and sandwich shack! Though it’s just a small shack, it has a great menu, friendly staff, and covered outdoor dining.

For those who are looking for more variety and a downtown experience, just a 20-minute drive puts you in the heart of Ogden, Utah. This area boasts many more restaurants and a lot more variety, as well as additional entertainment options to enjoy before or after your meal. Many of our favorites are left off of this list, so please ask hotel staff for more suggestions or information.

Ogden River Brewing

Brew Pub, Brewery | Visit Ogden River Brewing for a tasteful experience, from its own craft beer, to its state-of-the-art facility. Located along the Ogden River, ORB boasts an unmatched dining experience whether you’re inside its thoughtfully-designed dining room, or its lively outdoor dining area.

Pig & A Jelly Jar

Southern Comfort Food | This special eatery is known for its chieken and waffles among other truly delicious menu options. Dine in at its great location in the heart of Ogden for an unforgettable breakfast or brunch while you’re downtown.

Slackwater
